Primary closed mountain broad-leaved evergreen forest on very steep granite slopes along river canyon at elev. 1100 m. Terrestrial herb up to 1.5 m hg on shady rocky river slope. Rare.

N. Vietnam, prov. Cao Bang, distr. Nguyen Binh, municipality Nguyen Binh (N 22°37′ E 105°52′), about 41 km to W from Cao Bang town. Elevation from Le A pass to Na Ni mt. peak at 1400-1900 m alt. Old secondary closed evegreen wet mountain forest. Terrestrial herb on wet shadow steep slopes. Old leaves often with irregular whitish tesselation. Not rare.

Epiphyte on mossy trees on vertical cliff. Not common.

Degraded primary broad-leaved humid evergreen forest along rocky canyon of small stream at the base of mountains composed with solid crystalline highly eroded limestone at elevation 900-1000 m a.s.l. around point 22°38’43.8’’N 105°19’19.8’’E. Clustering epiphyte on old mossy trees. Not rare.

S. Vietnam, Prov. Lam Dong, distr. Lac Duong, municipalite Da Chay, 26-28 km to NE from Dalat city. Old open secondary dry coniferous mt forest with domination of Pinus kesiya at 1500-1700 m alt. in 8-10 km from Bi Dup main peak to the NW (N 12° 07′, E 108° 36′). Epiphyte on mossy trees, mostly on Lithocarpus and Lyonia. Flowers pinkish-white, lip with yellow-pink center. Not common, but occasionally abundant.

N. Vietnam, prov. Ha Giang, distr. Yen Minh, municipality Lao Va Chai, vicinities of Ngan Chai village, 6 km to W of Yen Minh town (N 23ø07' E 105ø08'). Primary evergreen wet mossy mixed forest (with domination of Tsuga chinensis and Pinus kwangtungensis) along tops of karst remnant limestone ridge at 1500-1600 m elev. Lithophyte creeping herb on open mossy rock outcrops. Flowers: tepals and lip white, column white, anther reddish-orange. Abundant.

Vietnam, Ha Giang Prov., Meo Vac Distr, Sung Tra Municipality, vicinities of Ta Cha Lang village around point 23°10′12″N, 105°17′39″E at elevation about 1100-1150 m a.s.l. Remnants of primary coniferous forest with Pseudotsuga sinensis on tops of high rocky remnant ridge composed with highly eroded marble-like limestone. Creeping lithophyte on very steep mossy rocky slope. Flowers light pink, lip with yellow center on epichile. Common.

Northern Vietnam, Ha Giang Prov., Quan Ba Distr., Can Ty Municipality, in the vicinity of Sin Suoi Ho village at right side of Mien River, around point 23ø07'12''N, 105ø00'52''E. Primary coniferous forest with Pseudotsuga brevifolia on remnant highly eroded limestone ridge at elev. 1000-1200 m a.s.l. Lithophytic herb on steep open mossy rocky slopes. Flowers white, light yellowish, lip with reddish-orange center. Very common.

Vietnam, Ha Giang Prov., Quan Ba Distr, about 2 km to the NE of Quan Ba town, around point 23º05’49’’N, 105º01’00’’E at elevation about 1150 m a.s.l. Primary coniferous forest with Calocedrus rupestris, Callitropsis vietnamensis and Pseudotsuga sinensis on rocky highly eroded marble-like limestone remnant mountains. Lithophytic herb on shady wet mossy slope. Flowers white, lip with yellow spot at the center. Very common. Dominant of lithophytic herb communities.

Lithophytic herb on vertical shady cliffs. Flowers white, lip with yellowish-lemon central spot. Very common.

Secondary open forest and shrubs along rocky stream valley composed with granite parental rocks at elev. about 1050-1100 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on shady place along rocky stream slope. Flowers dull yellow-orange. Not common.

Vietnam, Binh Phuoc Prov., Phuoc Long Distr., Bu Gia Map Municipality, along Dak Bo stream, around point 12°16′17″N 107°11′30″E at elev. about 300-350 m a.s.l.

Primary and secondary closed evergreen and semi deciduous broad-leaved lowland dry forest and open woodlands on hill slopes on basalt and shale mother rocks.

Epiphyte. Very common. Locally abundant, co-dominant in epiphytic communities in the area.
