Bac Giang Province, Son Dong District, south west of Than Son at approximately 195 m , growing within the forest in undergrowth on or near the steep bank of a stream/small river. Mixed with several other species of Aspidistra. Collected in flower 22/11/2018. In cultivation it has flowered sporadically through the winter and into early summer (June).
