Bac Giang Province, Son Dong District, south west of Than Son at approximately 220 m, growing within the forest in undergrowth some growing on large boulders close to a stream / small river, mixed with several other species of Aspidistra, collected with fading flower 22 11 2018, in cultivation it has flowered sporadically through mid-winter and into spring (April), Bleddyn Wynn-Jones, BWJ 16111 & 16114.
