Paphiopedilum micranthum T.Tang et F.T.Wang

N. Vietnam, prov. Cao Bang, distr. Bao Lac, municipality Yen Lac, vicinities of Yen Lac village (N 22ø44' E 105ø50'). Primary mixed semideciduous forest (with domination Keteleeria chinensis) along tops of remnant karst limestone ridge at 1450-1500 m elev. Terrestrial and lithophyte herb in primary sedges (Carex sp.) communities on open rock outcrops of N and NW exposition of the top of ridge. Flowers: tepals purple with yellow stripes, lip white with scarlet base and margins, staminode yellow with purple marks. Not rare.
