Bao Lac, municipality Ca Thanh,. about 3 km to SW from Yen Lac village (N 22°44' E 105°50'), about 42. km to NWW from Cao Bang town. Primary open coniferous mossy forest. (with Pseudotsuga brevifolia in 1 stratum) along tops of limestone karst. remnant ridge at 1400-1450 m alt. Shrub or treelet up to 3 m hg. Ripe. fruits dirty greenish, aril brightly red.
