FLORA OF VIETNAM Orchidaceae Paphiopedilum appletonianum
S. Viet Nam. Kon Tum Province, Kon Plong District, Hieu Municipality, Mang La forest enterprise station (14°40′37″N, 108°23′52″E). Collections along trail in forest enterprise at elev. 1057-1220 m. Epiphyte and terrestrial in deep humus, associated with Pinus dalatensis. Leaves light green with darker square patches, upper petal light green, lateral petals pink-purple on lobes, green and deep purple at base, with dark purple-black raised spots basally, labellum inflated purple, green and white, rostellum deep green in center, lighter at edge.
