N. Tanaka note: Characterizedby the pedunculate inflorescences of a few flowers from leaf axils (inflorescencesnot confined to stem apices). This species has been recorded only from China.Flora of China treats D. pedunculatumas a synonym of D. calcaratum, butthese are quite different species. D.pedunculatum was described on the basis of specimens in fruit, and thus itsflowers need to be described.
