S. Vietnam, Prov. Ninh Thuan, distr. Ninh Son, municipalite Phuoc Binh, 37 km to NE from Dalat city. Closed primary broadleaved wet mt forest on E macroslope of Gia Rinh mt. ridge at 1700-1800 m alt. (N 12° 06', E 108° 43'). Treelet or shrub up to 2 m hg on steep stream canyon slope. Fruits ovate up to 15 cm in diam. Not rare.
