Thua Thien - Hue Prov., A Luoi Distr., Huong Nguyen municipality, around point 16°06’04”N 107°27’55”E.Pristine primary broadleaved and mixed (with Dacrycarpus imbricatus) evergreen forest along mountain ridge composed with shale at elev. about 1000 m a.s.l. Treelet or shrub to 4 m tall in rather open places. Flowers red. Common.
