Quang Nam Prov., Dai Loc Distr., Dai Hong municipality, environs of Dai Hong town around point 15°49’44”N 107°57’19”E. Rich secondary closed broadleaved evergreen forest on very steep rocky slopes composed with eroded sandstone along high waterfall sides at elev. about 250 m a.s.l. Terrestrial herb on very steep rocky shady slope. Flowers dark violet to nearly almost black, fruits glossy blue. Very common.

Plant grown from seeds of the type specimen. Flowered and collected in 30 May 2021.

Flowers, rachis and floral bracts dark violet to almost black.
